Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Environmental Policy<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">GESAP, the management company of Palermo\u2019s Falcone Borsellino Airport, in carrying out its activities aimed at providing its customers with safe, efficient services that meet user expectations, adopts the principles of sustainable development and the fight against climate change, committing itself to protecting the environment, to improving its energy efficiency, to meeting its obligations to comply with the environmental and energy laws and regulations applicable to the organisation, its facilities, infrastructure and business systems, and to the continuous improvement of its integrated environmental and energy management system, with a view to optimising its performance.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As confirmation of the strategic importance attached to this fundamental principles of respect for and protection of the environment, sustainable development, and the fight against climate change, GESAP has signed the ACI Resolution NET ZERO CARBON EMISSIONS BY 2050&#8242;.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The commitments undertaken by signing the ACI \u2018NET ZERO CARBON EMISSIONS BY 2050\u2019 Resolution have been reaffirmed by GESAP through its signing of the Toulouse Declaration, confirming the objective of achieving net-zero CO\u2082 emissions by 2050.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The above, in terms of the core values underpinning the company\u2019s culture, policy and strategy on environmental and energy matters, translates into the following specific commitments undertaken by GESAP:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\u00a0to comply with the environmental and energy laws and regulations applicable to the relevant airport context, anticipating new developments where possible;<\/li>\r\n<li>to prevent and limit the environmental impact of air traffic and the airport\u2019s activities, assessing the feasibility of using the best technologies available on the market, including ensuring an appropriate balance in energy consumption derived from renewable natural resources (solar radiation, wind and biomass, etc.);<\/li>\r\n<li>to assess and monitor the release of pollutants into the air, water and soil, taking measures to<br \/>minimise the associated risks;<\/li>\r\n<li>reduce CO\u2082 emissions produced both directly and indirectly, including through the involvement of third parties operating at the airport, by participating in the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme, within which the aim is to achieve the highest level (Level 5) as quickly as possible, in line with the objectives set by the relevant international bodies and agreements;<\/li>\r\n<li>minimise waste generation, including hazardous substances, ensuring its proper disposal and promoting separate collection and recycling;<\/li>\r\n<li>take measures to conserve the site\u2019s natural habitats;<\/li>\r\n<li>assess and monitor noise levels, taking measures to reduce noise within the airport and in the surrounding built-up areas;<\/li>\r\n<li>integrate factors aimed at environmental protection and energy efficiency at all levels of the organisation, through:\u00a0\r\n<ul><!-- inizio della lista annidata -->\r\n<li>planning and designing the development of its services with a view to reducing energy consumption, waste and emissions;<\/li>\r\n<li>communicating, both internally and externally, its commitment to environmental protection, as well as its environmental objectives and performance;<\/li>\r\n<li>the involvement and training of its employees so that they play an active role in monitoring environmental impact and energy consumption within the scope of their activities;<\/li>\r\n<li>raising awareness amongst organisations and operators carrying out their activities within the airport of the need to reduce environmental impact and energy consumption;<\/li>\r\n<li>selecting suppliers and subcontractors who share GESAP\u2019s ethical values, environmental principles and focus on energy performance;<\/li>\r\n<li>compliance with Legislative Decree No. 231\/2001 on environmental offences;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the relevant authorities, representatives of local communities near the airport and environmental organisations through the sharing of information and the pursuit of a policy of active cooperation.<br \/>With specific reference to combating climate change, GESAP is also committed to developing the resilience of its organisation and organisational model by implementing appropriate adaptation strategies, based on governance and control systems, as well as risk management and communication tools.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Upholding these commitments, in the environmental and energy fields, is the duty and responsibility of all levels and functions within the organisation which, under the guidance of senior management, ensure that environmental and energy management is integrated into the organisation\u2019s business processes, strategic direction and decision-making, and play an active and leading role in the effective and efficient implementation of this environmental and energy policy.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In accordance with international standards for the effective management of control systems, GESAP has adopted verification and audit methodologies for its Environmental Management System and its Energy Management System.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; border: none;\" border=\"0\" width=\"948\" cellspacing=\"0\"
